Another great movie I watched last weekend was Frontiers. Frontiers is part of the classic horror movie pedigree of “crazy people who live out in the country who eat people”. You probably know many of these traditional films. One of the earliest being Spiderbaby, the most popular would probably be Texas Chainsaw Massacre, as well as 2001 Maniacs, and Rob Zombie’s House Of A Thousand Corpses to mention a couple more. Frontiers is like all of these movies except that it’s French and in this case the crazy people who live out in the country are left over Nazi’s. Frontiers is dark and gritty, but the colors are saturated like in The Descent. Once the requisite escape of the hero or in this case heroine begins the movie starts getting really good and it puts a few new white knuckle twists on the old story. I can’t tell you what they are because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. If you like Chainsaw or movies like that then you should really check out Frontiers. It’s an awesome addition to a classic horror lineage.
